Takamol Holding is a company that emerged from the Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) in Saudi Arabia. It aims to improve and develop the Saudi labor market and work environment through innovative initiatives and projects. Takamol started a national initiative called Telework which was designed to create a flexible work environment by connecting job seekers with jobs they can perform without the usual constraints of time and place.
2. Client Requirements
The client wanted to digitize and automate the teleworking experience by building an online platform that connected teleworkers with prospective employers. The system would allow employers to assign service providers to assist them in finding the right teleworker for their business needs.
3. The Challenges
Takamol team wanted the system to be launched and ready in two months, which – given the scope of the project – was a challenging deadline. The other challenge eSpace team faced was the necessity to migrate existing teleworker data.
4. The Solutions
Within two months, eSpace had created a telework platform that allowed companies to create projects with vacancies and assign each project to a specific service provider. The service provider would, in turn, work alongside the company to find a teleworker that met the company’s criteria. Once the teleworker was hired, the service provider would remain in contact with both parties in case either party decided to change the contract duration. The company admins were able to connect through their pre-existing Takamol account while the teleworkers logged in using accounts known as Absher accounts. eSpace designed specific scripts to migrate the existing data to the new system smoothly and efficiently.
5. The Outcome
Since its launch, the Telework platform has provided work opportunities for thousands of people, especially women and people with disabilities. Telework has also worked to eliminate any transportation obstacles or time restraints for workers, allowing them to work from anywhere and at any time.
